I've definitely thought about falling asleep in it once or twice, believe me. It's great for reading in, too.
Silence works for me, too, but I'm OK with being at a desk. That's probably because I turned to computers for storywriting pretty much the second I realised my handwriting was no good. And that typing goes much more quickly. The idea of curling up in a chair and handwriting something is very appealing, though.
