I cannot work out where people fit in the time to write! It's my first year back working full time, added to which are my beta-ing and vlogging commitments... and I swear I barely have time to sleep.

It was cold and she couldn't work out why. Cold eating into her skin. Cold flowing through her veins. Cold freezing her thoughts, her movements, her existence.
It was dark, too, although it was an uninvited darkness. Like a night that had decided not to end and had forbidden the sun to rise in the morning. Unnatural and unassailable.
And really damned annoying.
The coldness was starting to fall on her skin – gentle flakes of ice that dusted her bare arms and melted into fleeting liquid. Was this the rain her grandparents had spoken of? The water that fell from the sky and was greedily drunk by the earth?
At some point, she realised she could make the darkness go away. It was simple: all she had to do was open her eyes.
All.
It turned out to be the greatest effort she had ever made in her life. Whole days seemed to pass before light greeted her sight. So bright. Too bright.
She was lying in a field of cold and powdery white... and she had no idea how she’d gotten there.
That's 183 words! Yay! I am encouraged and I have avoided an official berating in my own journal. :D
