An Ode to Odes

Well, not really.  But I do like those odes, especially if they can be completely silly.  Thus, this week's video was a lot of fun for me, as I was finally able to compose and perform my ode.  A good time was had by all!

...Except the subject of the ode itself.  Watch to find out why! :D

One of the best things about setting this challenge was the way so many people responded with odes of their own.  That was fantastic. :)  This means you will all need to be watching out for more challenges like this in the future... and it's your own fault!

I was once given a courgette as a birthday gift because it was the most phallic object my friend found in the vegetable aisle.

(To me, you are holding a courgette. I don't know who is spreading this nonsense about the zucchini/courgette difference being one of size, but they are telling filthy lies.)

Every time I see a courgette, it's a tiny little thin thing. Maybe people have only been showing me the aneamic ones or something. I wanted to get a much, much bigger zucchini than that, but that was the biggest I could find. It was very sad. My mum used to grow them much bigger than that.

I'm not counting the ones that inadvertently grew to about three foot long, though.

Courgettes range from tiny things to the size you got, and possibly bigger. The giant ones are marrows, though.

Simple, the English have such a small variety of vegetables available to them they have to give the one vegetable a different name several times over to make themselves feel better.

Pumpkin. I cannot wait to have access to pumpkin again. And squash. And zucchini. *misses her local woolies and superbarn*

Thanks! It was fun to shoot, although I was feeling cranky about stupid landlords and having to look for somewhere new to live at the time... but filming this cheered me up.

The running over of the zucchini was hilarious - it looked even better than I could have anticipated.
