The LorF revolution continues!  I know I already said that in my title, but I felt it bore repeating.  Viva!

It's such a lovely day outside, too; I should probably be out there in the backyard (while we still have it), sitting on the fresh green grass... and writing LorF.

First, however, I will have to dislodge the furry, cat-like thing that has seen fit to plant herself upon my lap.  Oh wait, she's just dislodged herself.  How very considerate of her.

LorF, my friends, continues unabated here.  It's in my every thought and every deed.  I eat, speak and breathe LorF.  And we have Plans.  None will escape said Plans.  So please, don't bother trying - you'll just wear yourself out and the LorF will find you anyway.

I was wondering, though: would you non-LorFers like to know more about the whole business?  Do you have questions?  Such as, When are you going to shut up about this whole LorF thing?  If you do, please feel free to ask them.

It may turn out that I will have some for you in a few months' time...

OK, this could just be me being ridiculously lazy, but can I just shorten "LorF Revolution" to "LorFolution" and be done with it?

We keep our Handy Andy in the cupboard and he comes out to do the dishes for us. Of course, occasionally they catch on fire for no apparent reason, but it's free entertainment at least.

I so, so, so wanted to do the Crime Squad theme song over the little credit sequence on my video. Unfortunately, I didn't think of it until after I'd completed it all and uploaded it.

And yes, I am writing a new LorF! I started it a while ago, but it sort of stuttered to a stop so I'm picking it up this evening.

Huzzah for more LorF! I do like the style you've adopted for Andy - it's so matter-of-fact and inadvertently amusing.

I'm having too much fun burying myself in the wiki at the moment. I keep forgetting how much detail we have, then it's laid out in front of me and I squee.

I cannot wait to get back home and go on a photo spree of all the places in Canberra featured in the stories. I mean, they're nearly all done, but we need all the shots of the Embassy and the Lodge.

I can't tell you how grateful I am that it was all written down and stored. And when you actually see the volume of that information, we remember why we had to write it down: because there's no way we could have kept that sort of stuff in our heads.

I'm going to Beechy over the Easter weekend and I'm already thinking of locations where I can get some footage. Hell, I even want to have my episode written before I leave, so I can maybe engage in some video-ness for it.

I think the only sort of collaboration I'd be able to do would be one where I was only involved in the earliest creating, and then dropped out when the writing and inevitable changes-from-initial-ideas happened.

I was very lucky in that I was involved right from the start of the project. Then again, we've incredibly fortunate that the main writers of the project collaborate really well and compromise when needed. I can't imagine that all collaborations go as well as ours does.

DON'T "SHUT UP ABOUT THIS WHOLE LORF THING" -- it's got me incredibly intrigued!!

Now I am wishing I could be a part of something like this myself. What I should do in actuality, however, is pull out the story set in futuristic Brisbane that I began a while ago. It has a similar concept -- well, a racist government has risen to power and anyone whose family has not been Australian for four generations has to deal with lots of drama. I feel like the idea is cool; I just don't quite know what the STORY is, yet. Anyhow, whenever you talk about LorF, it gets me all inspired with this project of mine. Maybe some more simmer time will bring a proper plotline to the fore...

How does racist gel with fourth gen Aussie?

Well (and forgive me if this is not exceedingly thought out, because this plot is still in its rawest stages), here's the idea:

Basically, the government is trying to cultivate a nation of "pure Australians" -- creating a "race" of Australians. They have to decide to draw a line somewhere, and the line is drawn at the four-generations-back mark. So to be considered a "true Australian", your family needs to have lived in Australia for four generations.

My protag is a girl whose parents were born in Italy. Her best friend is Greek, and a guy that they meet along the story path was himself born in China but has been in Australia since infancy. According to the government of my story, none of them are legally classified as Australians, so the story will be about their fight for basic rights and to a part of the wider community.

So someone who is physically and culturally 100% Greek or Chinese would face no prejudice at all as long as (most of?) their great-grandparents were born in Australia, even if the only way to tell them apart from a 0th/1st/2nd/3rd-gen Aussie would be through birth certificates?

It just seems unrealistic that anyone would choose your great-grandparents' place of birth, rather than ethnicity or religion or the other usual suspects, as a reason for privilege or prejudice. With the "racist government" you're getting to ಠ_ಠ levels of disbelief-suspension required.

You know I've had so much fun re-reading all of our stuff this week, and it still boggles my mind just how detailed and thought out we've made our world. (the Wiki is lorferly and a constant fount of new ideas)

I shall write a new episode! (And kill off Sabrina using a handy 2x4)

Ah, but you're not alone. So many of us have unfinished stories that need to be finished. And I'm quite prepared to bribe people with as many cupcakes as it takes. Even myself. :D

I'm so glad I'm on holidays at the moment and have the time (and ability) to access everything and read everything... And it just keeps inspiring me more and more. Maybe we should buy the rights to the domain name? I have so many thoughts and ideas in my head. Remember RPG Media? Remember our plans? And our 2x4s of doom, with which we were going to beat everyone into line? Oh wait, no - that was Gill's TSDT. Of doom.
