This afternoon, I received a notice that a parcel was awaiting collection at the post office and I knew it could only be one thing: at long last, my testamur had arrived!  I had twelve minutes to walk down to the post office and pick it up, so with a sigh of relief at the lack of rain, off I went.  Ten minutes later, the official piece of paper, declaring me to have "fulfilled all obligations and prescribed conditions" of my Bachelor of Arts, was in my hands.

I must admit, it's a very boring-looking piece of paper, but it is the real thing.  It's such a relief to have it in my hands at last!

Here I am, modelling the most expensive piece of paper I'll ever own...

It's official!

Thank-you muchly! And I had to put "Buneater" on there, or no-one would have believed it was me. ;)

Shhh! Don't tell!

Thank-you! I'm quite happy to finally have it in my hands.

Congratulations! It's a fantastic feeling, isn't it? It also seems odd that one piece of admittedly fancy paper can symbolise those years you've dedicated and the work you've put in.

Posted by [identity profile] katiefoolery.livejournal.com
It definitely is a fantastic feeling. At last, I can forget about all the study and procrastinating and essay-writing and just look smugly at my piece of paper. That's a good feeling indeed.

That reminds me that my diploma should be in the mail soon too. Are you going to frame yours? :p

Posted by [identity profile] katiefoolery.livejournal.com
I suppose I might, eventually. I suppose I can't keep it in that postal-cylinder forever. Of course, it would help if it were a standard sized piece of paper, wouldn't it?

I hope your diploma arrives soon.

Tremendous!!!

*grugs*

Look at that shiny red seal! Doesn't it look official?

It does look official. Boring, but official.

It's quite a huge seal, isn't it?

ooooooohhhhhhhhhh aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh so that's what i'm going for.... :D a shiny piece of paper with a big red seal, it's nice to know.

Much sherbet lemons for the smart Bunny with the signed piece of paper!

Yep - that's it. That's your reward for all that study and pain and fees and other people borrowing the exact books you need from the library just when you need them...

You know, it would be much nicer if it came with a bag of lollies of your choice.

Are you absolutely certain you didn't receive that BA in Photoshopping? :-D
I juat have to wait a few more year for mine. :-)

Well, according to the detailed letter I received a couple of months ago, the parcel would first be delivered to your door and if you weren't there, then it would go to the post office. But yes - if there's a parcel waiting for you, you'll be told.

Oh, congratulations! How exciting. You can now hang that on the wall in your writing area and use it as a distraction on those days when the muses abandon us. XD

♥ Again, many kudos to you, dearheart!

Alas, I've used up the two hooks in my writing area and I lost those hooks I bought to put up... Ah well, I shall probably get it framed regardless, if only to stop it curling up into a cylinder.

Thank-you muchly!

Congratulations!

When I got mine they included a sheet of paper with a detailed breakdown of all my marks in all my modules. My delight on receiving it was marred somewhat by the realisation I got 33% in my advanced quantum mechanics exam (But luckily, I still passed!)

Deakin seems to do things in bits and pieces, so I received my official break-down of marks a few months ago. But I can imagine not being quite so happy if a disturbing mark had been given to me at the same time as my degree!

Congratulations :) Still have to wait another year for mine...and I can definitely sympathize with that "most expensive piece of paper" bit...oh, and the "other people borrowing the exact books you need from the library just when you need them" part too!

It's so depressing, isn't it? You find the perfect book on the catalogue... and it's out. Gah!

A year isn't too long, although essays and study do tend to stretch things out. I hope you're as happy to get your degree as I was to finally get mine!

Congrats by the way!

Yes, I will soon be able to make a great big pile of pointy exclamation marks! Especially when you consider all the ones I've contributed, too.

Congratulations Bunne!!

It's so shiny and official looking. :D

I think you should aspire to be like the doctor in the movie "Garden State (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0333766/)" who had so many degrees and cerificates that he had covered an entire wall; he had to put one on the ceiling when he ran out of room!

Thank-you! It is official-looking, but it's also really boring when you're close up to it, alas.
