Hmm, yes, I can definitely relate. My first permanent internet persona was Polyesta Girl and it still remains my Hotmail and eBay account among other things but I found myself gradually outgrowing it a few years ago. I chose "demimonde" for my LJ name for no real reason other than I liked the word. Over the last couple of years, I grew into "bethamphetamine" and decided to adopt it all round - unfortunately when I went to change my LJ account over, some dirty mole had stolen it!
