katiefoolery: (Goku thinks it's time to worry)
[personal profile] katiefoolery
Did you ever have one of those days when you just don’t feel like yourself?  I mean, literally.  As though someone snuck in overnight, kicked your personality out of your head and promptly took up mopey residence in its place?

That’s me right now.  Actually, to be more accurate, that’s been me since yesterday.  I really don’t appreciate not feeling like myself.

I’m amazed I even managed to make any sort of progress on my website re-design yesterday, especially since everything else turns to total crap whenever I touch it.  I thought I was doing well when I wrote a ficlet based on a prompt word the good [livejournal.com profile] morbane was kind enough to send me.  It was a great prompt word and an OK fic but the more I thought about it, the more it annoyed me and I ended up deleting it.

And thus it joined the three other posts I’ve started writing over the past week.

Everything I touch just turns to blah right now.  Even my annoying muses have been quiet... and it turns out that’s not the absolute bliss I imagined it would be.  I actually managed to get to sleep last night without having to endure Jane’s boundless enthusiasm for hours on end... and that felt very wrong indeed.  It’s the first time in about a fortnight I’ve been able to do that.

Worse, there’s a story I really want to write but I daren’t touch it right now because I don’t want it to turn to blah.  And I don’t want to ruin it before I've had a chance to make something of it.

It’s all very frustrating, really.

*snugs* I would actually worry about your muses being quiet. It must mean that they're plotting something.

I think you should write something new that doesn't matter if it turns to blah. Get the blah out.

(Now I have this image in my head of a product for writers that works like Vizine "Gets the red out" eyedrops. "Gets the blah out!")

See, this is why I'm worrying. I just know they're up to something.

Of course, five minutes after I posted this, Jane started poking me in the shoulder, saying: You know, I'm a feeling a bit blah, too. So you never know, I might manage to drag a new Jane letter out of this.

Is Jane ill? I hope she isn't suffering.

Huzzah for letters! Lizzie would be most pleased. She is still quite bored, and Cassandra has started feuding with her. It's most uncomfortable.

No - she's not ill, just bored. Her anticipated life of excitement and rains of pea soup is turning out to be anything but.

Alas. Perhaps Lizzie can do more research for her regarding spells for pea soup.

Perhaps Jane should advertise for a highwayman.

You and I can mope together. I'm in a 'meh' mindspace, but if i move it over to 'mope' I think it would be a nice change... :S

I love the beginnings of your redesign. It looks so cool! and the colours and patterns are spiffy :D

Thanks muchly. :) The good Rig cast her eye over it last night and gave me some very good tips. It's certainly a world away from my previous design. :P

I cheered myself up a bit by buying some Bleach with my Christmas gift voucher. Also, why aren't you online so we can squee about having a new chapter after two long Bleach-less weeks? Huh? Answer me that.

I'm feeling blah too! Maybe it's in the water -- I hope whatever it is, it's only temporary and you can get writing again soon. Hopefully your muses are just thinking and will have something for you shortly XD

I think there must be something in the water, definitely. So many people seem to have this blah thing.

I'm afraid my muses are actually planning something dastardly.

I like the nice solid letters, they look like fridge magnets!

Thanks muchly! The whole design came to me one night when I was muse-less.

*hugs* I hope you feel back to your own self again soon. Guess you should be careful what you wish for, eh ^_~. *tempts Jane out with some antique dressers*

*grins* I figured they might ^_~. If not, I could always tempt her with an antique writing table ^_~
