For Flit

Well, seeing as the good flippyfrog was generous enough to print up an official retraction of her mockery of my inability to take photographs of teddy bears nailed to gum trees*, I thought I would respond, likewise in photographic form, to let her know how her hand-made fluffy pink rat toy was received by its intended victim, my cat Pickle.

As you can see, she was extremely hesitant about getting her teeth into this new object... for all of two seconds.  She seemed to work out straight away that it was a perfect toy for grabbing with one's teeth and tossing into the air.  Not that I've tried.  But now that I've thought about it, I really want to.

Or not.  After all, the cat has already been playing with it.

And now, to toss it into the air...




And when you're done, toss it into the water dish to make sure it's clean for next play-time.

So I think we can safely conclude that Pickle loves her new present.  She doesn't go to the effort of washing any of her other toys.

In other news, Flickr has advanced itself from beta to gamma.  I wonder if they'll go through the entire Greek alphabet before they're happy with what they're doing.

Aw... That was adorable!

Mine do the exact same thing with their bowls, either food or water. Save for Orpheus, who brings the toys at my fit demanding to play "catch". :S Silly cat.

She got all annoyed when we took it out of the bowl to clean it, too. It really is an incredibly popular toy right now.

I'm so glad that the rat-in-drag (otherwise known as rat-who-fell-into-fairy-floss-machine) was well recieved and got that bath it probably needed after such a long flight.

She loves it! My Timothy picked it up this morning when Pickle as in the kitchen and he was in the hall and she got up straight away and ran towards the sound of the bell. She sulked when we took it away from her to dry it off, too.

Some of Bouncer's best cat toys were:
- ping pong balls
- shadows
- cotton/wool with a bit of cardboard tied to the end
- a windup mouse
- bells
- paper balls

I think the shadows were the top favourite, he used to go crazy and bounce all over the place :P

Oh yes - cats will amuse themselves quite cheaply, won't they? Pickle had so much fun at Easter, batting around rolled up balls of Easter egg foil.
