Huzzah!

katiefoolery: (Just waiting)
[personal profile] katiefoolery
Well, I was going to come on here and whinge about stupid Australia Post sending my manga, for which I’ve waited almost a month now, to the wrong post office for collection.  I was going to follow that up with a slightly embarrassed admission to the effect that I didn’t actually look at the collection notice to see which post office I should actually run off to... before I ran off to the wrong one.

Once that was out of the way, I was going to rant about how unfair it was that my Timothy’s parcel of stuff had been left at the door whereas my parcel of lovely manga was going to remain languishing in a post office until the next afternoon.

And then I came back inside from my fruitless jaunt to the wrong post office and opened the parcel that I’d assumed held my Timothy’s stuff.  It was at this point that all of my carefully-planned rants fell apart because the parcel actually contained my manga.

Huzzah!

Of course, irony contrived to make sure that it was the stuff that was shipped after the first lot and that I can’t actually read it until the other parcel arrives, but I don’t care.  Twenty-five percent of my manga is finally here!

I shall now dance.

Indeed! Soon it will all be mine and then I shall vanish from sight until it is read.

Manga arrival is always a good thing. *is waiting for her own manga arrival, of one single but nonetheless beautiful little comic*

*glomps Gohan*

It is, isn't it? And it was made sweeter by the fact that I fully believed it was something else. I hope yours arrives soon. :D

Mwahaha! Now the dragonballs are MINE!!

Huzzah!!!

As long as the manga arrived! And you won't have to wait before reading it, now. Once you've read the first lot, the second lot will be right there waiting!!!

Yes, but I have to wait for the first lot! I can't apply logic when I want to sulk!

Mind you, I'm not sulking all that hard.

Ha ha!

Australia Post does tend to do some very strange things sometimes, anyway...

They do! Parcels always go to the post office I walked to. Even the post office guy couldn't explain why it'd been sent to the other one.

i had one once that was sent to the industrial part of belci, on the other side of belconnen to where i live, rather than the little one close to my home. I never ever understood that. And it wasn't like it was a different type of parcel, it was a book, like most of my parcels. *shrugs* i suppose it makes sense in their minds...

Or, maybe they just like keeping us on our toes. Silly AP. I grew up in a small town, so I'm used to only going to one post office for all of my parcel-holding needs. It's actually a bit weird to be this close to two post offices.

*chuckles* Silly woman! You're a writer, reading would be a useful skill to train *pokes and winks*. Just kidding. Enjoy your new manga (once you get the first package)

I shall! I must admit, I'm actually hoping the other parcel is mine, too. Although I can't explain why that one would have gone to the post office when the other one was left at the door.

*tangoes with a rose in her teeth, which looks rather odd as Elfie has never learned to tango and is pretty much making up the steps as she goes along*

Huzzah for manga! Which manga are you reading at the moment?

Hehe! I appreciated the tango muchly, good Elfie. :D

I'm reading InuYasha, Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist at the moment but I'm open to suggestions if you have any.

P.S. I am making a Cassandra icon for you!

*tangoes a little more just for you* Roses don't taste good, by the way. Next time, I'm going to use a chocolate rose. Bleah.

I am quite fond of Wish, which is a four-volume fluff-fest by CLAMP. I also love Imadoki. My favorite series thus far is Kindaichi Case Files, which is fabulous if you like Agatha Christie and mystery writers of that type.

I really need to read Fullmetal Alchemist--I hear that one's excellent.

Fullmetal Alchemist is very good. It was actually the first manga I read, so I think I'll always have a soft spot for it. You can read it online here (http://www.readmanga.com/view.php?currtitle=1) if you feel like it. I usually try the manga online before I go out and buy it - just to make sure it's something I'll actually read. :)

Thanks for the recommendations! I shall add them to the list.

We are lucky enough to have an excellent comic store near us, and we are subscribed to much manga. I'm pretty sure I have Alchemist kicking around here somewhere. *looks a bit sheepish* I am really behind on my manga.

I love that icon!

I'm at the early stages of manga addiction and I'm reading InuYasha, Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them. One must always expand one's manga horizons. :D
