katiefoolery: (Just waiting)

Ah, holidays.  There’s nothing like them.  How wonderful to be able to wake whenever you like to look forward to a day full of nothing but the things you want to do.  I don’t think I’ve achieved anything so far these holidays... and I don’t care!

I have made some observations though.  They are as follows.

1.  I think I’m growing out of the colour pink.  I spent the first twenty or so years of my life hating the colour with an incredible passion.  It was with a great shock that I realised a year or so ago that I had suddenly started liking it.  When did this happen? I wailed to myself.  When did I say I was allowed to suddenly like pink?  But there were no answers forthcoming so I just went with it and indulged in the pink.

And now I believe I have reached the threshold.  For example, please examine the colours of this morning:

  • I woke up wearing pink pyjamas

  • I put on my pink dressing gown and pink slippers before heading off for my shower

  • I plugged in my pink iPod mini to charge

  • ...while it was in its pink leather case

  • I took the money for my bus ticket out of my pink wallet

Clearly, there is too much pink in my life and it’s starting to get on my nerves.  From now on, I think I’ll go back to blue.

2. My other observation is that I really need to give my stories better file names.  I spent about ten minutes yesterday looking for a particular story and only found it by opening a file by pure chance.

3. In a slightly-related observation to the above, Windows’ file search function should try searching all files as I requested, instead of ignoring all the WordPerfect files in the folder.  If it did this, then I wouldn’t have had to make observation number two.

My final observation is that you know you’re addicted to fonts when you see a number-plate with “TTF” on it and seriously consider taking a photo of it with your phone, just to remember it.  Luckily, I resisted this urge.

I used to hate pink as well, especially when I was little because it was girly and everyone else liked pink... so I deliberately liked blue and purple just to be different :P But, I find myself now with a few pink things as well.. especially clothes. I seem to wear all kinds of colours, really. Actually that reminds me, when I bought my recent phone (the motorola v3x) the man assumed I wanted a pink one, but I had to tell him.. "no, I'd like the black one please". I did want orange, but they had none.

And that's my story about the colour pink!

Ooh, I would have taken a pink phone if I'd had the choice when we updated ours! Luckily, it wasn't an option, so I went with "champagne green" or whatever on earth it is. It's different enough and it doesn't annoy me by being pink at the moment.

I think it was the girliness of the colour that originally annoyed me, too. It was just so... girly. Really, really girly. It's been a nice couple of pink years, but I think I'll be happy to wave it goodbye now.

I'm going to be on camp for a week where my camp colour is hot pink. I'm going to be getting a pink hat and a pink t-shirt. I will have my hair sprayed pink for the duration of the camp. I am currently organising things to decorate the campsite with, such as pink crepe paper, pink felt and pink material. My leader's book is pink. I will have my nails painted pink and it's sounding like i'm going to have pink eyeshadow too. I have been told there will be pink food products as well.

At the end of the camp i wish you to come and ask me what my feelings on pink are, because right now, they're not so cheerful.

Oh. That sounds very... pink. I think I'd go insane if I had to be surrounded by that much pink!

*makes note to ask*

I predict you'll either be making plans to destroy it or you will have become indoctrinated into the pink way of life, a la [livejournal.com profile] miska_maz.

I will never conform to the pink NEVER

Besides, my cheeks are pink enough, i wear pink and i look like an alcoholic :S

So i'm going to be looking drunk the whole camp! My what an image to give to the masses...

You know, you've just reminded me of a camp I went on when I was a Guide where my group had to wear bright pink scarves instead of our normal maroon ones. Will your midgets be treated to that as well?

I have no idea. We probably will be getting scarves.

Why aren't you on MSN? We haven't spoken in so long and i go away on Saturday :( come talk!

In that case, I shall write this comment purely in that colour. :)

From now on, I think I'll go back to blue.
Fairy Merryweather approves.

Hehe! I had to Google Fairy Merryweather but I do approve of her choice in garments. Blue is indeed a most plendiferous colour.

Join me in the purple phase :P

And what a splendid numberplate! I would certainly have taken a photo for posterity, but then again I'm a rather snap happy person :D

I've never really taken to purple - it's one of those colours that can't seem to make up my mind and I prefer my colours to be confident about themselves. Or pink. Although not as much any more, as I've already mentioned. :)

I was so close to taking a photo, too! I just settled for smiling in a font-addicted way.

I'm having the same pink problem too. I used to have pink hair at one point but I realised I was sick of it. I'm hoping to rediscover pink when I'm around 70 and can scare small children by wearing only hot pink!

Does this mean I should change the colours that show up for you on my friends page? Because when I added you you had a pink layout, so you got pink.

I agree with you on number two. I was looking for something today, and I still can't find it. It doesn't help that things either go in the 'me' folder or their fandom folder, depending on what kind of mood I'm in.

Hehe - no, I can stay pink on your friends page. That was a very pink layout, wasn't it? I was deep the throes of my pink-addiction at that stage.

I have most problems with my images, because they can end up in any number of subdirectories. It's very confusing. I think I'm going to have to start giving my stories very literal file-names. For instance, it would have been much easier to find the story in question if I'd named the file The one where the main character has an obsession with date pastries and a manipulative guy in her head.

I loved pink when I was eight or so. I am fond of certain shades of pink, but "Barbie Pink" makes me want to vomit. Also, there is definitely such a thing as too much pink.

I have, to my pre-coffee knowledge, one pink T-shirt, and that is the extent of pink in my current wardrobe. The shirt in question is hot pink and explains, in sparkly white letters, that the wearer has a high sugar content. I love this shirt. It was a gift from [livejournal.com profile] arianadream. That is about the only bit of pink that I love.

Like so many things, pink is lovely when used in moderation. I'm more of a blue and purple sort of person, myself. Oh, and red. I do love red.

Oh, there is so much pink in my wardrobe at the moment! I'm wearing a light pink top at the moment but I HAD NO CHOICE! I'll have to work on getting more blue back in there. And red. I'm a great fan of red, too. I hate quizzes that ask me what my favourite colour is, because I can never really choose between red and blue.

My mum always wanted me to wear pink - she was delighted when I suddenly started doing it voluntarily.

*chortles* My mum had to make all of my clothes when I was small, and most of them were pink and white. I got in a lot of trouble for playing in the dirt.

I hate being asked what my favorite color is, too. I usually default to purple, thus encompassing both red and blue!

I'm just doomed if they ever put out a lavender Razor phone. I know I shall want one.
